Working within Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Dotfuscator Professional, a user selects

• an already compiled application or service
• early warning and expiry dates (absolute or relative)
• custom and/or default behaviors that can include real-time responses, e.g. forcing a re-installation, as well as a reporting function for both development and IT stakeholders.

Dotfuscator then injects all required logic, links all components and compacts the resulting executables to produce an executable that is typically smaller and more efficient than the original.

There is no access to source code or programming required, making this category of application portfolio management equally well suited for new, existing and legacy software.
